Retrofit DSP chip for Android radios

What is DSP?
In short term: DSP is a digital real-time modification of the audio signal from the radio to improve the sound.

What are the benefits of the DSP module?

Suitable for the following models among others:

• PA series (Android 8.1 and 9.0)*
• PB series (Android 8.0) [PBx8xxBIP only]*
• PB/PBX/PQ Series (Android 9.0/10.0)*
• AVIN Avant 4 (only with PX6)*

This means the type designation of the radio, which can be found on the sticker on the radio, e.g. "PQ7039B" → PQ series

A further improvement of the sound is possible with a modified equalizer app, but this requires root permissions. (e.g. with the firmware of Hal9k)

To ensure that your radio is suitable for retrofitting this DSP chip, open the radio and locate the black slot in the back of the board. Some models already have a "simple" sound chip on the slot, this is simply replaced.
If this slot (or the sound chip that is on it) is not present, then unfortunately this DSP chip does not fit. (see second and third article picture!)
