Excellent head unit with great sound clarity and features.
The head unit seamlessly switches on factory DSP amplifier of the E53, even without the Resler interface/module. This is great news for anyone who is looking for a workaround to BM54 radio module, which was previously required to switch on the DSP amplifier module. Otherwise there would be no sound. If you want to take it a step further and be able to tweak the factory DSP equalizer settings, Resler module/interface will allow you to achieve your goal.
Great unit, very bad frame fitting
The head unit is the best I have seen in a while. Super fast and the overall quality of image, performance amd materials is amazing.
However, the unit dimensions are just a bit bigger than the X5 e53 with Navigation frame. This makes the installation a real struggle, needing to trim down the plastic frame quite a lot to fir the Xtrons unit.
It is a shame they do not make the unit back box just a tad narrower, a couple of mm would suffice.
Great purchase otherwise, already installed on my 4.8is from 2005, working with DSP and all plug and play, no soldering or anything.
